Vasectomy is the surgical procedure which interrupts the circulation of sperms, making men become infertile, it does not, however, interfere in the production of masculine hormones or their sexual performance. This procedure has become the best way of birth control and family planning, especially among better educated people.
In vasectomy the urologist cuts or seals the deferens, these are easily located in the scrotum and an incision of about 0,5cm is done bilaterally. The procedure lasts about 30 minutes. Local anaesthesia is given and eventually sedation, causing little pain, and generally no time off work is required.
Vasectomy reversion can be done, regardless of when it was carried out. Results of reversion are better when it is more recent. To those who are well willing to have children, there are methods which offer good results even after vasectomy.
