Formerly, the substances used for the filling were paraffin, silicon and bovine collagen, determining complications and undesirable situations.

Currently, hyaluronic acids have been considered the ideal type of substance for cutaneous filling. Because it is present in the organism as a natural constituent of the skin, it presents better compatibility and adaptation is comparable to the other fillers.

It can be used to fill sulcus, expression marks and scars, lasting about 8 months. Its application is done in the doctor´s office with local anesthesia and it is usually well tolerated.
